Designed by Harry Colt, the front nine is quite hilly and cuts through very beautiful woodland and the back nine makes for a flatter, water-orientated test.

Short by modern standards, the landing zones are tight, the greens are quite small and there are lots and lots of bunkers. This is a course for the thinking golfer or one who heads the sand-saves table! A members club with a fine sporting tradition, it is best to play here midweek to catch it at its most welcoming. Hilly in parts. Two miles south of Saint-Jean-de-Luz and eight miles south-west of Biarritz.
