Fontenailles is rapidly reaching its potential of very high standards.

This is an inventive course cut through woodland and calls for some risky (and fun!) shots. Several of the long holes are tough and the “Amen Corner” around the turn will rob you of a stroke or two so make sure you do well on the shorter par fours. This is a good golf course. The St Andrews bar is fun, the clubhouse serves hearty food and there’s a decent nine-hole track for after lunch. Easy walking. 30 miles north-east of Fontainebleau and 15 miles west of Provins.
