Designed by Tom Simpson in 1929 and with another nine holes added by Henry Cotton in the 1960’s, Deauville is a very well-maintained and classic parkland course.

And with clever doglegs, towering trees and tricky and quick greens, it’s enough of a challenge to host the French Open but still sporting enough for mere mortals to have a lovely game. However, make your score early on as the last few holes use the slopes of Mont Canisy to great effect. After the round, savour a drink and lunch in the cosmopolitan atmosphere in the clubhouse. A great club. Hilly in parts. Two miles from Deauville and seven miles west of Honfleur.
