Rated among the European Top 20 and World Top 100, Fontainebleau is the favourite course of many of those in-the-know. Despite being private and exclusive, Fontainebleau welcomes our clients on a “member for the day” basis and provides a wonderful experience.
The understated entrance and car park set the “more is less” tone of this smooth-running club but you soon realise something special is on the cards when you look down the 9th fairway – velvet greens, mature woodland and deep bunkers protecting hundred-year-old greens. All told, there are 103 bunkers with all the wide fairways being framed by France’s largest forest and the raised tees affording incredible views. This is a timeless Tom Simpson design and arguably the most enjoyable of his three French courses in the European Top 15. The changing rooms are very smart and the artdeco clubhouse and friendly staff provide a stepback- in-time environment in which to contemplate the last round and start looking forward to the next one. Our green fee includes trolley, practice balls, an afternoon round if available and a three-course lunch ... All told very good value and well worth the “investment”. Mostly easy walking although there are a couple of hilly climbs (caddies available if pre-booked). One mile south of Fontainebleau.
