The well maintained greens, links grasses, numerous bunkers and sea breezes make a unique challenge for the serious golfer. The slow climb gradually gives way to the world famous view from the highest point of the course on the 7th tee, across the course and over to Edinburgh, Fife and way beyond is worth the green fee alone. With every hole having its own distinct character wide open spaces and a number of deep bunkers, the course is both memorable and enjoyable. Number One has a long history of hosting international Championship events, including the Scottish Amateur Championship, Open Championship Qualifying and the Seniors Open Amateur.
