Situated next to the Royal Aberdeen, Murcar provides a first class challenge even when the wind does not blow. There are three par 3’s, two par 5’s and 13 par 4’s. There is a series of short par 4’s that provide a real challenge if you are to keep down your score.
In 2006 Murcar Links hosted the European Challenge Tour's Scottish Challenge and the British Boys Plate. Established in 1909 to the design of Archie Simpson, with later refinements made in the 1930's by the celebrated golf course designer James Braid, Murcar is indeed a Championship links of repute, in the finest of Scottish traditions.
It has recently undergone alterations and improvements that are sympathetic to what Simpson and Braid set out to achieve.
